It’s no surprise that the Beltline is shaping Atlanta’s restaurant scene. We’ve been telling this to our BiteLines Atlanta Food Tours guests since day one.
So we were thrilled when Bon Appetit recently spotlighted some of the best places to eat on the Beltline. Even better, a few of the spots featured are ones we proudly share with our food tour guests!
Several came straight out of Krog Street Market, Atlanta’s first food hall and the spark that ignited a wave of food halls across the metro area. We love bringing guests here for tastings and stories about the chefs who helped put Atlanta on the culinary map.
And now, a huge congratulations to the restaurants we feature on our food tours that made the list:
Soul Food & Culture
We include Soul on our Beltline Food and Street Art Tour because it’s simply some of the best Southern food in the city. Their fried green tomatoes are legendary with our guests - even people who swear they “don’t like tomatoes” end up raving about them. Some even call it their favorite tasting of the tour.
And the fried chicken sandwich topped with mac & cheese? Let’s just say it speaks for itself - and easily ranks among the best food on the Beltline.

Gu's Dumplings
A stop at Krog Street Market wouldn’t be complete without Gu’s. These dumplings, made from an authentic Sichuan recipe, have a devoted following - our guests constantly tell us, “Whatever you do, don’t take the dumplings off the tour.”
They’ve earned plenty of national media love too, with the New York Post including Gu’s among The 17 Best Chinese Restaurants in America. It's a classic when it comes to things to eat on the Atlanta Beltline.

Varuni Napoli
Few things beat the sight (and smell) of a Neapolitan pizza bubbling inside a blazing brick oven. At Varuni Napoli, ingredients imported from Italy - like authentic San Marzana tomatoes - combine to create pies that taste like vacation in Naples.
The margherita is a classic, but if you like a little heat, the Bastardo will win you over with its fiery kick. And the best part? In just 90 seconds, your pizza is ready, still steaming from the oven. This is why Varuni is consistently ranked among the best pizza spots on the Atlanta Beltline.

Fred's Meat and Bread
Philly may have invented the cheesesteak, but Fred’s perfected it. Piled high with thinly sliced steak, melty cheese, and a roll with just the right chew, it’s a sandwich worth traveling for. Even celebrity chef Alton Brown declared, “I’m so sorry Philadelphia, but the best cheesesteak is now in Atlanta.”
And if you’re not in the mood for a cheesesteak? Their burger might just ruin all other burgers for you. No surprise then that the Michelin Guide awarded Fred’s a spot in its Bib Gourmand category, cementing its status as one of the best affordable eats on the Atlanta Beltline.

Ladybird Grove and Mess Hall
When we host private groups, Ladybird is always a hit. Their open-air campground vibe is the perfect backdrop for a menu full of smoked wings, pulled pork, and some of the best mac and cheese you’ll ever taste.
On sunny days, their patio buzzes with energy - cold drinks in hand, vintage campers serving beer, and the endless parade of Beltline people-watching. It’s one of the must-visit restaurants on the Atlanta Beltline, especially on weekends.

Hop City Beer and Wine
When it’s time to pair food with drinks, Hop City is one of our favorite stops. Their rotating list of craft beers pours everything from crisp lagers to hop-heavy IPAs and rich stouts, with Georgia favorites like Creature Comforts often on tap.
And for a refreshing non-alcoholic option? You can’t beat their sweet Abita Root Beer on tap.

The Beltline is packed with incredible restaurants, but knowing where to go can feel overwhelming. That’s where we come in.
Join us on a Food and Street Art Tour of the Atlanta Beltline and let us guide you to neighborhood favorites, share the stories behind the food, and of course—serve up the tastings everyone raves about.
Skip the guesswork. Avoid the tourist traps. Come eat and explore with us.
