Atlanta Dogs Are Getting Their Own Halloween Parade on the Beltline

If your dog already has a Halloween costume — or you’ve been looking for an excuse to get them one — this is their year.
For the first time, pups in costume will take over the Atlanta Beltline for the Howl-O-Ween Pup Parade & Beltline Crawl, complete with a dog costume parade, costume contest and trick-or-treating just for dogs.
The event, hosted jointly by BiteLines Atlanta Food Tours and the Atlanta Beltline, takes place Saturday, Oct. 31, from 11:30 am–2 pm on the Atlanta Beltline's Eastside Trail, beginning at the Fourth Ward Skatepark, and ending in the Krog District.
If you’re looking for dog-friendly events or fun dog activities in Atlanta this fall, this one should definitely go on the calendar.
First, the Pup Parade
The Halloween fun starts at 11:30 am at the Fourth Ward Skatepark, where pups will gather in costume for judging before the parade kicks off at noon.
From there, dogs and their humans will make their way down the Atlanta Beltline to the Krog District. Expect witches, superheroes, pumpkins, dinosaurs and probably at least a few dogs dressed as food. (A dachshund in a hot dog costume never gets old.)
And because some dogs take Halloween fashion very seriously, there will be prizes for standout costumes, awarded by Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming, the Official Costume Contest Prize Partner.
Then It’s Time to Trick-or-Treat
Once the parade reaches the Krog District, it’s time for the dogs to go trick-or-treating. Yes, trick-or-treating for dogs!
Participating businesses will be ready with special treats for the pups, so you can take your dog from stop to stop and let them collect their Halloween haul. Go at your own pace anytime between 12 and 2 pm.
We first tried dog trick-or-treating on our Barks & Bites: Beltline Doggie Crawl last Halloween, and the dogs (and their people) had so much fun that we decided to make it even bigger this year.
Don’t want to walk in the parade? No problem. Dogs can join just for the trick-or-treating portion.
And just to be clear: the treats are for the dogs. Humans, you already had your childhood.
A Little Halloween Fun That Gives Back
The Howl-O-Ween Pup Parade & Beltline Crawl is also a chance to support the place where it all happens.
For every full-priced ticket sold, $10 will benefit the Atlanta Beltline Partnership and its work to create a more connected, vibrant and inclusive Atlanta.
How to Join the Fun
The full Pup Parade, Costume Contest & Trick-or-Treating experience is $39 for one adult and one dog pair.
If your pup would rather skip the parade and head straight for the treats, Dog Trick-or-Treating is $20 per dog. No human ticket needed.
Have more than one dog? Bring them along! Additional Dog tickets are $15, with a limit of three dogs total per person.
And for pups who expect the royal treatment (you know who you are), add an optional VIP Pup Package for $15 per dog. It includes your choice of a Witches Brew Puptail or Fall Harvest Pup Cup, plus a VIP swag bag filled with toys, treats and more.
